About this download

Three workbooks for life after a move

Two people make the same move and end up living different lives. One has colleagues by week two. The other is learning the bus routes, the forms and the silence of the flat.

Kita Tabachka, a BACP registered therapist who works online with expat and internationally mobile clients, wrote this collection for the months after the boxes are unpacked. Each workbook holds six modules, a closing sheet, two practical tools and a fully completed fictional example.

What you receive

  • We Moved. What Happened to Us? A practitioner toolkit for couples adjusting to life abroad: the same move with two different stories, what each of you gave up, the work nobody sees, more than each other’s whole world, the families who came with you, and one partner who wants to stay while the other wants to return.
  • Grief Across Borders. A practitioner companion for bereavement far from home: what happened and what is needed today, the goodbye you missed, guilt and regret, a relationship with more than one truth, family expectations across distance, and making room for grief in ordinary days.
  • I Moved for Us. A personal reflection workbook for identity after relocation: the parts of you which moved with you, what you chose and what you found, missing work and missing being known, feeling capable in an unfamiliar place, belonging without becoming someone else, and one small choice of your own.

An expat therapy workbook bundle for practitioners and clients

The two practitioner toolkits pair every guide with a client reflection sheet. Each guide gives opening questions, other ways in when a session stalls, a worked example and a way to close. I Moved for Us works on its own, or alongside therapy, for the partner who followed a job, a family or a relationship to a new country.

Questions about the bundle

How many files do I receive?

Six PDFs: each workbook in A4 and in US Letter. The download links appear straight after payment and arrive in your order email.

How do I fill the pages in?

Each workbook has 40 boxes to type into, 120 across the set. Use Adobe Acrobat Reader, Apple Preview or another free PDF app, save a copy and reopen it to check your entries. You also have the option to print and write by hand.

Am I allowed to use the reflection sheets with my clients?

Yes. One practitioner uses the guides and shares the reflection sheets with their own clients. No resale, rebranding, public uploads or clinic-wide sharing.

Who wrote the workbooks?

Kita Tabachka, MBACP, a BACP registered relational therapist who works online with individuals and couples in the UK and abroad.

Three fillable PDF workbooks, 20 pages each, 60 pages in total, in A4 and US Letter. Instant download after payment.

The practitioner toolkits are for qualified practitioners working within their competence. Couples exercises need an assessment of suitability and safety first, and are not for use where disclosure would expose a partner to abuse or retaliation. These workbooks do not replace therapy, medical care or crisis support. If you feel unsafe, contact your GP, NHS 111 or call 999.

Questions buyers ask

Do both partners need to take part?

No. Most of these workbooks are for one person. A change in one partner's responses often shifts the pattern between two people.

Do these replace couples therapy?

No. They help you understand a pattern and practise a new response. For entrenched conflict, betrayal or separation, see a couples therapist.

Is this suitable if my partner frightens me?

No. Couple exercises are unsafe where there is fear, control or violence. In the UK, call the National Domestic Abuse Helpline on 0808 2000 247.

How do I get the file after paying?

The download links appear on the order confirmation page and arrive by email once payment clears. No account is needed, and you keep the files.

When a worksheet is not enough

Some problems need another person in the room. Kita Tabachka, the BACP registered therapist behind this shop, works online with individuals and couples in the UK and abroad. The first consultation is free.
